PETER MAX STUDIO RELEASES A PAUL McCARTNEY HOMAGE

NY artist Peter Max Studio honors Paul McCartney's 70th birthday.

June 18th, 1942 Paul was born, so today Monday 18th 2012, he is 70 YOA. Peter Max will be 75 in October this year, and I'm sure their lives have crossed over more than once.

AM-NY, an urbanite Blog had the chance to interview PETER at his NY atelier, where a composite of Paul was presented to the public. Peter has the homage collage on his back, and curiously, they are not so original, but they are the same image the PM studio licensed to NEWLIFE Magazine issue July-August 2002, in a variety of color tones:

THE PETER MAX Studio is giving a new twist to the brand name, and this will push it deep into the XXIst century, and cementing the foundations for an unavoidable Peter's absence, somewhat the Warhol Foundation model. Meanwhile, all his original collectibles, be it magazines, franchised objects, books and unique memorabilia of the past will be much more desired than any canvas made after 2010. Meanwhile, be very weary of forgeries especially of mixed media and acrylic canvases, and preferably purchase only pieces where Max is present and signs the back of the artwork, since many times even the file number, Provenance and COAs can also be very questionable.
